Your Friday Playlist: The Best of Tarantino

The ear-cutting scene in Quentin Tarantino's debut film Reservoir Dogs is probably the most memorable scene out of all of his filmography. Why? Because even though we don't actually see this act, the scene's paradoxical pairing of the violence with the happy Stealers Wheel song, "Stuck in the Middle with You," playing in the background is emotionally jarring, yet hilariously entertaining. Michael Madsen’s dance really makes you wonder how he can jump from one emotion to another. This incorporation of popular music is a signature staple of Tarantino's film style: from David Bowie to Al Green to Kool and the Gang, what else could you ask for?

With this in mind, the Moviegoer has decided to honor various cinematic movie moments every Friday by releasing a new director’s playlist, compiling the best songs from their best scenes.

Today, we give you Tarantino. Enjoy.
