Cillian Murphy in A Quiet Place 2
You may know Cillian Murphy as Christopher Nolan’s favorite supporting actor (he stars in all three movies of the Batman trilogy, Dunkirk, and Inception) and as the star of the popular television series, Peaky Blinders. If you don’t, then you’ll most likely catch him in John Krasinki’s upcoming sequel to the box office success, A Quiet Place.
It’s not yet clear what the film will be about. All we know is that Emily Blunt will return (her three children from the first movie are rumored to be attached to production) and that the characters from the first film must continue to hide from aliens that hunt entirely by sound. Most importantly, A Quiet Place 2 has a release date set for May 15, 2020.
What do Elon Musk, Harambe, and SoundCloud have in common?
On Saturday, Elon Musk dropped a track on SoundCloud called “RIP Harambe.” In case you forgot, Harambe was the gorilla that was killed at the Cincinnati Zoo in 2016 when a child fell into his enclosure.
Released under the fictitious record label, Emo G (get it?), “RIP Harambe” is one of the worst songs I have ever come across. If you don’t want to waste your time listening to Musk’s track, I have included some lyrics below:

Apple Announces Streaming Service
Last week, Tim Cook took to the stage to announce Apple’s new streaming service, AppleTV+. It is planned to join Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and many others in the streaming business this upcoming fall. The presentation included a sizzle reel which showcased the titles and clips of Apple’s original content. Here’s what you can expect to binge on AppleTV+:
The Morning Show (starring Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and Reese Witherspoon): This show marks the first return of Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell to television as series regulars since Friends and The Office, respectively. The show will follow the lives of those who help wake America up in the mornings, exploring the challenges that female (and male) television hosts face in this industry.
Amazing Stories (directed by Steven Spielberg): Amazing Stories is based on the 1985 television series of the same name, which was also created by Steven Spielberg. There isn’t a lot of information about the show yet, but it will be a fantasy anthology television series and Edward Burns has been cast to star in an episode.
Dickinson (starring Hailee Steinfeld): This comedy series is Emily Dickinson’s coming-of-age story with a modern sensibility and tone. The show is described as a study of “the world of Emily, audaciously exploring the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of a budding writer who doesn’t fit in to her own time through her imaginative point of view.”
Truth Be Told (starring Octavia Spencer, Lizzy Caplan, and Aaron Paul): a thriller drama series, Truth Be Told is a look at the true crime podcast trend that has recently gotten traction. The show follows Poppy Parnell (Spencer), an investigative reporter, as she attempts to solve a decades-old questionable murder verdict through her new podcast.
Mythic Quest (written by Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day): From the creative team behind It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest is a half-hour scripted comedy series where McElhenney plays the creative director of a video game development studio.
